Dedication; an act or rite of dedicating to a divine being or to a sacred use.

Self-sacrificing devotion.

a devoting or setting aside for a particular purpose

a name and often a message prefixed to a literary, musical, or artistic production in tribute to a person or cause
This is what it takes to homeschool.  More importantly this is what it takes to parent.  It takes devotion to ensure your children are given the best instruction possible.  It takes dedication to God to see that through without strangling your teenager.  It takes dedicating a family, and the leadership of the home to God.  “as for me and my house we will serve the Lord”
Recently Scott Brown of NFCIC gave a group symposium for Fathers to become dedicated to their duties as kingdom builders, priests, and prophets of the home.  It was a great way to end Reverent week, and lead into Dedication week.
What is your family dedicated to?  What are you willing to sacrifice for?  Let me ask it another way, what would you give up sleep for?
Let us narrow the focus; what are you dedicated to doing in your homeschool plan?  Are you dedicated to a particular curriculum to achieve your learning goals?  Or are you dedicated to instilling the joy of learning into your child, and letting them set learning goals?
Are you dedicating, certain times, and spaces to the learning process?  Or is the world your classroom, and depending on what whim drives you, determines the class time?
Are you dedicated to ensuring the educational and learning experience is a tribute not only to your children, but to your grandchildren?  Could you be including family genealogy, family history, family economics, family long-term visions into your home school curriculum plan?
In life, we want our son to understand he is dedicated to God, as our first born son.  We are dedicated to serving our Lord Jesus.  We are dedicated to homeschooling him to his greatest potential, and explore every learning potential that comes upon us through dedicated evaluation.  Dedication to leading, and entrepreneurship, and becoming a warrior for God, these are the things we see worth dedication to.
What do you spend most of your time with?  Are you dedicated to a certain Television show? Movies?  Video Games?  Starbucks?  Wal-Mart?  Apple?  Drugs? Alcohol?
Remember as a leader we are modeling the way, dedication to a life of excellence, and the joy of learning must be modeled to be emulated.
Dedicated to the memory of all my lost brothers!
